What are
your wedding ceremonies like?
What would you like them to be like?
I have performed ceremonies on the beach, on sand dunes, in a
concert hall, private homes, conference centers and, of course,
in church. I have done everything from very formal weddings
to a thoroughly ‘60s hippie-style
ceremony. (At that one I was asked to smudge the guests as they
arrived… it was a very fun celebration!) The only
limit I have is your imagination! I will probably,
however, pass on parachuting and bungee jumping.
Are you a
fully Ordained Minister?
Yes, I’m ordained with the Universal
Brotherhood Movement and also have my Bachelor of Divinity
Degree with them.
Can you
perform weddings in states other than Michigan?
Yes. My ordination is valid anywhere
worldwide. The important factor would be local laws and local
qualifications.
Will you
help us design our wedding?
I have a small collection of
suggested ceremonies that I can send you. You’re welcome to
choose one of them or to write your own. Once written, I ask you
to send your vows to me so that I can review them
and rehearse them before your ceremony. I also like to create a
nice-looking copy of your vows for you to keep. The samples I share with couples are
for fairly short ceremonies. I am happy to officiate at longer
ceremonies but leave the writing up to you.
Do you
charge extra for travel?
Yes. If your ceremony requires two
days of participation (for instance, if it is out of my local
area and there is a rehearsal the evening before) I charge $100
for the extra evening. And if your ceremony is not local, I
charge for the extra expenses involved. You will get receipts to
authenticate all the expenses.
