Have you ever used a tarot deck for fun or for insight? There are LOTS of books to refer to for information and how-to's... I won't begin to reproduce an entire book's worth of information here, but I will attempt to give you enough information to give you a good start!

Begin by buying a deck... seems simple doesn't it? Your job is to make sure that the deck is attractive and comfortable to you. If you find it confusing, ugly, dull or negative... that's not a good deck for you. If it is beautiful and simply makes you want to enjoy all the art within, that's a good deck! And for a starter deck it should be fairly simple... not too impressionistic... so it complies with traditional tarot techniques.

Once you have bought your deck, get to know it... Look at all the pictures... read the book that came with it. Handle it so that your energy is on the cards. And always treat your deck (as you would with all your possessions) with respect.

As you shuffle your deck, ask for one card which will give you a message for the day. Once done shuffling, pick one card and see what it has to offer!

Shuffle well and then place 3 cards face down. Notice which ones are right side up and which are reversed...

3 cards up means: YES!!!

2 up and one down means: Yes, but with reservations.

2 down and one up means: No, also with reservations.

3 down means: Absolutely NO!

This is the most famous spread used for reading tarot cards.

Shuffle your deck, cut the deck 3 times and then reassemble it.

Then place the top ten cards from the deck in order according to the numbers below.

Each placement has a special energy... Check the energy and add the card's meaning to create a fun, positive and insightful reading.
