Book review:
Eat, Pray, Love, by Elizabeth Gilbert One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia I saw this book at the store and was intrigued, but didn't buy it. Then I heard Elizabeth Gilbert interviewed on Oprah and liked what I heard, and still didn't buy it. Then my mother read it and RAVED about it... she even offered to loan me hers if I absolutely promised to return it. So I bought it... What a wonderful book! Not only is Ms. Gilbert a gifted story teller but also a gifted writer. Her sense of humor is great and not overdone! And her willingness to share her own weaknesses and foibles is quite endearing.
Watch for the movie... Julia Roberts has been signed to play the lead... This is an excellent read! I give it \\\\\ (Five OM's!). My Book and Magazine Rating System: Rating = 1 to 5 Om's... 1 is very good... 5 is Spectacular! \\\\\

Movie Review:
August Rush (Rating: HE, I, WO) Freddie Highmore, Keri Russell, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Robin Williams - Directed by Kirsten Sheridan (Inspirational Drama) Have you heard of this movie? It was just released on DVD and I don't remember seeing even one ad for it. And it is wonderful... In the beginning, a rock star and a concert musician have a one night stand which results in a child. The concert musician is fooled into thinking that her child has died by her own father in order to protect her career. And the movie is about the child's search for his parents, his discovery of music and the true synergy of life. Robin Williams is his usual great self... and the boy (did any of you see him as Peter in Finding Neverland?) plays August wonderfully. My Movie Rating System: HE = Happy Ending; GML = Good Moral Lesson;
